BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Sporting pink uniforms in support of Frontier Communication's "Pink Zone" game, the Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team outdid Elmhurst, 81-70, Saturday (Feb. 8) at the Shirk Center in front of 700 fans.
The Titans improve to 15-6 overall and 9-1 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, while the Bluejays fall to 12-9 and 4-6 in the league.
Senior Colleen McMahon led IWU with 26 points, while Katy Seibring and Shelby Jackson followed with 15 points apiece.
While Elmhurst led by as much as 12 points early in the first, the Titans were able to take control At halftime, 39-34. IWU, however, got into a rhythm in the second, to lead by as much as 11, for a sealed victory.
