Senior post Phil Wallace scored 15 points to help Ohio Wesleyan build a halftime lead, but 19th-ranked Denison rallied for a 67-62 win in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Saturday at Branch Rickey Arena.

Ohio Wesleyan will be the No. 4 seed in next week's NCAC tournament.  Ohio Wesleyan and DePauw tied for fourth place in the conference standings, with Ohio Wesleyan winning the tiebreaker based on head-to-head results this season.

Wallace hit consecutive 3-pointers to break an 8-8 tie and put the Bishops ahead, and Ohio Wesleyan led by as many as a dozen after a Wallace lay-in made it 32-20 with 3:55 left in the first half.  The Bishops still were up 12 after a 3-pointer from senior wing David Rice provided a 39-27 lead, but Denison's Scotty Dean hit a 3-pointer for a 39-30 margin at the break.

Another Rice 3-pointer gave the Bishops a 53-42 lead midway through the second half, but Denison went on a 21-4 run that included 4 free throws from Trevor Reed, an Aidan King 3-pointer that tied the game at 57 followed by a King jumper from the lane that put the Big Red ahead to stay, and buckets by Ricky Radtke and Darren Rubin that gave the visitors a 63-57 lead with 1:11 to play.

Fifth-year post Tony Carter knocked down a 3-pointer to make it a one-possession game, then came up with a steal to give the Bishops a chance to tie.  Freshman wing Jake Lowman sank a pair of free throws to bring the Bishops within 63-62 with :14 to play, but Denison answered with a pair of free throws from King to restore the 3-point lead.

On the ensuing inbounds play, Denison's Cameron Scott challenged the inbounds pass and the ball went off the foot of senior guard Henry Hinkle and out of bounds, giving the ball back to the Big Red, and Rubin followed with a pair of free throws for the 67-62 final.

Wallace led the Bishops with 17 points.

Carter finished with 10 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.  Carter also played in his 114th game as a Battling Bishop, tying the school record set by Mark Slayman from 1986-90 and equaled by Seth Clark (2013-14, 2015-18) and Nate Axelrod (2014-18).

Hinkle dished out a team-best 4 assists.
