FORT DETRICK, Md. - A putback by Wesley College's Kyan Andrews (Seaford, Del./Woodbridge) with four seconds left completed a comeback from a 14-point deficit in the final six minutes as the Wolverines defeated Hood 72-70.

The Wolverines had tied the game on a free throw by Paul Reynolds (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna), who was fouled with Wesley trailing by one.  The sophomore missed the second attempt, but Andrews grabbed his eighth rebound of the night and laid it in for the game-winner.

The Wolverines' defense held Hood to just four field goal attempts - all misses - in the final six minutes and caused four Blazer turnovers over that time.

Wesley, meanwhile, made six field goals over that time frame and made 8-of-10 free throws during a 20-4 run to end the night.

This came after Hood's second half lead grew to as many as 16 and still stood at 66-52 after a free throw by Justin Bowens with 5:43 to play.

An ice cold start to the game, the Wolverines made just three of their first 18 field goals, had Wesley trailing for most of the evening.  The Wolverines trailed by as many 14 in the first half before Hood carried a 31-22 edge into the break.

Chris Douglas (Landover, Md./Jericho Prep Academy) continued his strong play with a team-high 22 points for Wesley, powered by an 11-of-12 effort at the line.

His line was just part of a superb night at the charity stripe for the Wolverines, who sank 22-of-27 as a team.

Reynolds ended the night with 13 points, 11 of which came in the second half.  The forward matched Andrews for the team lead with eight rebounds and was 7-of-8 from the line with four steals.

Andrews finished with a dozen points, and Kevin Johnson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) chipped in with 11.

Hood's Tyler Snoots led all players with 24 points on 7-of-11 from the floor and 10-of-16 from the line.  Cameron Cook added 13 points, while Jamal Bell came off the bench for 11.

The Blazers shot 50 percent from the floor on the night, but was undone in part by a 21-of-36 performance from the free throw line.

Wesley also grabbed 17 offensive rebounds on the night that turned into 21 second chance points, and transformed 19 Blazer turnovers into 24 points.

The Wolverines are idle through final exams until Stevenson visits Wentworth Gymnasium on December 14.
