The Mississippi College men's basketball team traveled to the University of South Alabama and fell in the season-opening exhibition game, 92-65.  The Choctaws led by as many as three points with 11:08 remaining in the first half.





The Choctaws were led by sophomore Kendre' Smith with 10 points on 2-5 shooting from the floor and 5-6 shooting from the free throw line.  Sophomores Pate Shackelford and Cameron Bounds each finished with nine points.





MC shot 41% from the floor, while the Jaguars made almost 50% of their shots from the floor.  USA outrebounded the Choctaws by a margin of 40-32, while MC turned the ball over 26 times compared the Jaguars' 15.





USA was led in scoring by Martino Brock with 20 points, while Augustine Rubit and Allyn Cooks finished with 16 and 13 points, respectively.





The Choctaws will open the season on November 20th when they host Pensacola Christian at 5:00 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
