The Division III men's basketball schedule took a big hit from the weather on Wednesday night, but it didn't keep Wisconsin Lutheran from making the nine-mile trip across the Milwaukee metropolitan area. And it kept the ride home from being too painful, as the No. 7 Warriors saw their 13-game winning streak snapped as Milwaukee School of Engineering picked up a 91-83 win.

Mason Dopirak finished with a game-high 26 points and six assists, while Ethan Johnson added 20 points and nine rebounds, shooting 9-for-12 from the floor in the win. The Warriors, who fell to 20-2, 13-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, shot 25 percent from three-point range, going 5-for-19 in the first half and 5-for-21 in the second.
MSOE (15-7, 11-4 NACC) led 46-37 at the half before embarking on an 18-6 run, during which Wisconsin Lutheran shot just 1-for-7 from the floor and turned the ball over twice. The Warriors got as close as six in the final seconds but were not able to get any closer.
Hampden-Sydney overcame 34 points and 14 rebounds from Guilford's Nick Farrar as the No. 4-ranked Tigers improved to 20-3 overall and 13-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a 78-71 win. Shane Fernald led H-SC with 20 points, and although Adam Brazil shot just 5-for-16 from the floor, he had a game-high six assists and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the foul line to get to 16 points. Trailing 50-27 at the half, Guilford went on a 22-2 run to get within three points, but Hampden-Sydney responded by scoring 11 of the next 15 points to put some distance between the Tigers and Quakers. The win avenged Hampden-Sydney's last loss, which came Jan. 8 at Guilford. The Tigers have won 10 in a row since.
It was time to avenge a loss for Gwynedd Mercy as well, as the Griffins got 23 points from Shawn Summers Jr. to get past Marymount on the road, 76-70. GMU's win was its fifth in a row as the Griffins improved to 20-3, reaching the 20-win plateau for the seventh time in the past 11 full seasons. It was a one-possesssion game for essentially the entire second half. Gwynedd Mercy had lost to Marymount on Jan. 15.
Christopher Newport defeated Salisbury for the second time in as many Wednesdays, as the No. 12-ranked Captains held off the Sea Gulls for a 67-65 win. Salisbury did hit a three as time expired for the final margin, but at no point in the final four minutes did the Sea Gulls (15-8) have the ball with a shot to tie or take the lead. CNU (19-4) got 14 points from Jahn Hines and 13 more from his brother, Collin Hines.
Montclair State ended the night atop the logjam in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, as the Red Hawks defeated New Jersey City 89-85 in overtime behind 26 points from Jacob Morales. Montclair is 12-4 in league play, followed by Stockton at 11-4. TCNJ, Ramapo and Kean are all tied at 11-5 in conference play and are just one game back of the league with two games to play. Stockton has three NJAC games remaining.
Dubuque improved to 17-5, 11-2 in the American Rivers Conference, as the Spartans got 27 points and 13 rebounds from Jaylin McCants in a 77-61 win against Wartburg. Grady Thompson added 16 for UD, which is a game and a half ahead of Nebraska Wesleyan for the top spot in the league. NWU has four games remaining, including a content with Simpson which was rescheduled for tomorrow night, Feb. 13.
