Greg Gary has announced his resignation as the head basketball coach at Division I Centenary (La.) after two seasons, effective immediately.
Gary recently completed his second season at the helm of the Gents basketball program where he guided Centenary to a 16-44 record in two seasons.
Centenary (La.) announced last summer it would seek reclassification in Division III. Last month, the American Southwest Conference announced it would add Centenary as a 16th member once its reclassification timeline was established.
Gary will return to Duquesne as an assistant, a post he held prior to being named the Gents head coach in April of 2008.
"Being the head coach of the Gents was a wonderful opportunity and an outstanding experience. My family and I have really enjoyed our time at Centenary and in Shreveport. We appreciate what the people have done for us," said Gary.
"It was a pleasure to work with Greg for two seasons. He did a fantastic job for us. I know everyone at Centenary wishes him and his lovely family the absolute best," said athletic director Tom Tallach.
